“Accelerate Alabama”: Alabama Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (ALEPSCoR) program is dedicated to the advancement of economic development via scientific and engineering research through a collaborative effort among the State’s research universities. The focus of activities is designed to attract and retain distinguished scientists and researchers for Alabama; to develop new cutting-edge technologies and high-tech industry; and to stimulate state competitiveness in medicine, biotechnology, engineering, and other applied sciences.

(EDPA) is a nonprofit organization funded by more than 60 leading Alabama companies that are committed to enhancing economic development in the state. • Auburn University Research Park  supported by the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation (ARTF). • Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT)  AIDT, an independent agency under the supervision and oversight of the Secretary of Commerce, encourages economic development through job-specific training. Training services are offered in many areas, at no cost, to new and expanding businesses throughout the State. Location: One Technology Court

• Alabama Industrial Development Training Alabama Robotics Technology Park is a collaboration between the State of Alabama, Calhoun Community College, and AIDT.  The Robotics Technology Park’s mission is to provide a technically trained, highly skilled, and educated workforce for automation and robotics, to assist public and private entities in developing new robotics systems and technologies, and to promote the creation, growth, or expansion of companies through innovative technology solutions.  Location: 6505 U.S. Hwy 31, Tanner, AL 35671
• Civitan Research Center at UAB is a research institute located at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). It was founded in 1989 and focuses on conducting research related to developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. The center is named after the Civitan International Foundation, which has been a major supporter of the center’s research efforts. The Civitan Research Center has a multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, and staff who work together to advance the understanding and treatment of developmental disorders. • Cummings Research Park – associated with the University of Alabama Huntsville. Cummings Research Park is the second largest research park in the country and the fourth largest in the world. • HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.  (501(c)3) The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology has a four-fold mission of conducting genomics-based research to improve human health and well being; implementing genomic medicine, sparking economic development; and providing educational outreach to nurture the next generation of biotech researchers and entrepreneurs, as well as to create a biotech literate public. • International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) (501(c)3) – IFDC originated as a private, nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Alabama, United States.  IFDC opened its headquarters in Muscle Shoals, Alabama on the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Reservation in 1976.  In March 1977, IFDC qualified as a Public International Organization by Presidential Decree 11977. IFDC received widespread support, cooperation and backing from the global community for which it was created and continues to thrive upon its successes. • University of Alabama Birmingham Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  The Bill L. • University of South Alabama Technology and Research Park.  The Park also serves to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation through its on site business incubator, the Coastal Innovation Hub.
